The Carlos & Fernanda Institute Teacher Training Course is an intensive three-day in-person training created for dancers who want to understand Brazilian Zouk with more depth, clarity and confidence.
This course is not only for teachers. It is for dancers, passionate students, assistants, future teachers and community leaders who want to understand how Brazilian Zouk works beyond memorizing steps.
During the training, participants study technique, methodology, musicality, communication, class structure, movement analysis, body mechanics, safety and professional development — always connecting theory with real practice on the dance floor.
This is not just a theoretical course. It is a practical experience where you move, dance, observe, discuss, practice, ask questions, build combinations, analyze movements and learn how to transform information into a clearer learning experience.

Many dancers attend workshops and festivals, learn new movements and feel inspired — but later struggle to remember, organize or truly understand what they learned.
The Teacher Training Course was created to help solve this gap. You will not only learn movements. You will study how movements are built.
You will understand why certain combinations work better for students. You will learn how to break down information, simplify complex ideas, organize class material and create safer, clearer and more enjoyable learning experiences. What You Will Study During the 3 Days
This three-day in-person training includes both technical and educational content.
✅ Brazilian Zouk Technical Foundations
Posture, axis, weight transfer, timing, connection, grounding, elasticity, dissociation, rotation, body mechanics and partner communication.
✅ Classic Movements & Combinations
How to study, organize and practice classic Brazilian Zouk movements and combinations with more logic, clarity and purpose.
✅ Practical Dance Training
Real movement practice, partner work, exercises, demonstrations, corrections and physical application of the concepts studied during the course.

How to break down movements, understand their structure, identify common mistakes and explain technique in a clear way.

How to organize material for a class, workshop or training, including progression, timing, repetition, practice and development.

As an individual participant, you join the three-day in-person Teacher Training Course and receive a Certificate of Participation.
This option is ideal for dancers, teachers and passionate students who want to experience the course, study Brazilian Zouk more deeply and improve their understanding without joining the full Institute Journey.
The individual course includes the three-day in-person training and the participation certificate.
It does not include the full 12-month Institute access, other Institute trainings, mentorship, VIP community, repeated trainings or the Official Teacher Certification Path.
2. Institute Student — 12-Month Journey
As an Institute Student, you receive access to the Teacher Training Course plus the full 12-Month Professional Development Journey.
This is the complete path for dancers, teachers and future leaders who want continuous development, more technical growth, mentorship, repeated learning opportunities and the possibility to pursue the Official Teacher Certification.
Your Institute journey does not need to begin with the Teacher Training Course.
It begins when you join the Institute.
You may start with another available Institute experience — such as Elite Dance Training, Fast Track, online sessions, mentorship, live classes or other official programs — and take the Teacher Training Course when it becomes available.
What matters is not the order.
What matters is that each experience becomes part of your complete development.
Your Institute journey does not need to begin with the Teacher Training Course.
It begins when you join the Institute.

Certificate of Participation vs. Official Teacher Certification
There is an important difference between completing the Teacher Training Course and becoming an officially certified teacher by the Carlos & Fernanda Institute.
Certificate of Participation
All participants who complete the three-day Teacher Training Course may receive a Certificate of Participation.
This certificate recognizes your presence and participation in this specific training.
It does not represent official teacher certification.
The Certificate of Participation is available both for individual Teacher Training Course participants and Institute Students.
Official Teacher Certification
The Official Teacher Certification is a separate professional qualification available only through the full Carlos & Fernanda Institute 12-Month Professional Development Journey.
To receive the official certification, participants must be Institute Students, complete the required Institute process, participate in at least 80% of the required content, and successfully pass the theoretical and practical exams.
The official certification is not based only on the three-day Teacher Training Course.
It is based on the full development process, including required trainings, mentorship, study materials, practical experience and evaluations.

Required In-Person Experiences for Certification
Most Institute content can be followed in different formats: online, in person, live or recorded.
However, for participants who want to pursue the Official Teacher Certification, two experiences are mandatory in person:

✅ Prague Zouk Congress Immersion
These two in-person experiences are essential because they allow participants to study directly with Carlos & Fernanda, experience the methodology in a real environment, observe professional classes, connect with the community and complete important parts of the certification process.
Other required content may be completed through a combination of in-person trainings, online classes, recordings, mentorship sessions and educational materials, according to the Institute requirements.
Certification Exam
Participants who wish to receive the Official Teacher Certification must complete the certification exam process.
Certification Exam Fee: €150
This fee includes both the theoretical and practical evaluations.
The theoretical exam takes place in person in Prague, during the Teacher Training Course and Prague Zouk Congress period.
The practical exam is scheduled individually according to availability.
It may be completed one-to-one, as a couple, or in another suitable format depending on the participant’s situation and certification requirements.
The practical evaluation may take place in Prague or at another event, congress, festival or training where Carlos & Fernanda are present.
Participants should follow Carlos & Fernanda’s international schedule and arrange their practical evaluation in advance.

The practical evaluation observes how you apply what you learned during the Institute development process.
It may include your ability to:
